ABOUT

Life is equally beautiful, wild, serene, daunting, raw and hard.

This precious life of yours, is yours; yours alone, and you get to choose.

But it’s not quite like that, is it?  Life happens.

We can all too easily lose direction or not even know where we are heading we just find ourselves mindlessly moving through life, our spirits can be dampened, we can lack courage to make changes to become the person we are destined to be.  We can lose faith in those around us. Feel helpless with humanity. It can all become so overwhelming.

I get it. I’ve been there. But you know what? It’s ok; right where you are now is beauty. It may be hard to see. But it’s there in your every breath.  You my friend are beautiful.

I formed Peas & Harmony to provide you with a safe, warm, gentle, non-judgemental space. A space where we can walk side by side, explore, understand and plan together. Let’s find what lightens you up, and then prioritise that in your life.

Whether your focus for coaching is on the everyday or major life changes, or whether you just want a friendly ear whilst sharing a coffee whether that’s face to face or virtually then let’s get that kettle on and make contact.

Peas and Harmony was formed as a celebration of my journey to live the life I dreamed of. I found I was living a life that appeared successful on the outside; I had a good job in leadership, had qualifications coming out of ears. But I felt a fraud, I was living a life that wasn’t my own, it didn’t feel true to me, I wasn’t being authentic and living to my core values. It made me ill.

I spent time exploring my purpose and my values and I realised  compassion, harmony, peace and creativity were the values I felt as most important in my life in order for  me to be  balanced.

Moving towards a life that better aligns with my core values is an exciting journey, it has already led to some wonderful opportunities that were so unexpected, and I have met some inspiring people along the way. It has led me to extend my compassion to non human animals and live a vegan lifestyle, it has allowed me to volunteer when previously I was time poor, I have developed a more conscious and simple way of living and I live with gratitude. I am so grateful that Peas & Harmony allows me to do what makes me smile inside and out. I look forward to my continued journey and the gifts that living a life true to myself will bring.

So, let me introduce myself,

I’m Cara Fitzmaurice I live and work in Cornwall, UK. I love nothing more than spending time with my husband Andrew, we love vegan home cooking and we have started to try and turn our hands to growing vegetables we are often accompanied by a hen or two as we run a microsanctuary ‘Little Feathers’ which provides one to one care for injured or poorly for ex commercial hens.

In a move to live a life with less negative impact, our home and studio for much of the year is powered fully by our own solar energy, we also use an electric car for most of our journeys.  I am inspired by Cornwall’s wild landscapes and inviting hedgerows this is reflected in my ceramics pieces that I design and make from my home studio. I also occasionally run one to one and small group workshops.

My coaching tool box

I’m a life coach, I am trained in motivational interviewing, neuro-linguistic programming, compassionate minds,  mindfulness and I’m a registered nurse and health visitor and have completed an introduction to counselling and psychotherapy course.

Please know that you are not alone, if you are still reading this far than I guarantee that we most likely are from the same tribe, know I ‘m here for you. I want to help you figure out what you love, commit to it, and make it your life.

Don’t be denied the person you are destined to be.
